Troy High's unbeaten boys soccer team defeated Warren Cousino 5-1 Tuesday, Oct. 27, advancing to its third consecutive Division 1 regional final.
The Colts will face Utica Eisenhower at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills, according to Troy's official athletics calendar.
Troy has reached this stage in each of the past three seasons but lost in the regional final in 2024 and 2025.
Troy pulls away in second half
The Colts led Cousino 1-0 at halftime before adding four goals in the second half.
Senior Mateo Coronado scored twice, junior Florian Zinn added two goals and senior Cole Cusmano scored once, according to The Oakland Press.
Coronado opened the scoring in the first half. Cusmano extended the lead shortly after halftime, and Troy continued to pull away.
Cousino freshman Kamil Sternicki scored the Patriots' lone goal.
The regional tournament results confirm Troy's 5-1 victory.
Third consecutive regional final
Troy lost 3-1 to Troy Athens in last year's regional championship game. In 2024, Rochester Adams eliminated the Colts 1-0 in double overtime before going on to win the state title.
Head coach Adam Spinks told The Oakland Press that this season's team includes 10 seniors who have experienced those previous regional-final defeats.
The Colts entered the postseason undefeated after a regular season that included wins over Woodhaven, Lake Orion, Stoney Creek and other Oakland County opponents.
They also defeated Birmingham Seaholm 4-2 in the district final on Oct. 21 to advance to regional competition.
Eisenhower awaits Thursday
Utica Eisenhower secured the other regional-final berth with a 5-1 victory over Clinton Township Chippewa Valley on Tuesday.
The teams met earlier this season. Troy defeated Eisenhower 3-0 on Sept. 10, according to the Colts' athletics records.
Eisenhower has won three consecutive postseason matches entering Thursday's final.
The winner will advance to the Division 1 state quarterfinals, moving one step closer to the state championship.
Thursday's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Stoney Creek High School.
