Troy High School's boys soccer team captured its third consecutive district championship Wednesday, Oct. 21, defeating Birmingham Seaholm 4-2 at Troy High School.

The top-ranked Colts overcame a 1-1 halftime tie with three second-half goals to win the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 District 13 title.

The MHSAA confirmed the result in its Oct. 22 statewide sports roundup.

Four Troy players scored in the championship game: Ryan Wind, Kevin Garay, Orestes Kaltsounis and Conner Hotts, according to The Oakland Press.

Hotts scored late in the second half to help secure the victory.

Seaholm entered the final ranked eighth in Division 1. The teams had played to a scoreless tie during the regular season.

Colts survive competitive district

Troy faced a challenging postseason bracket that included six teams ranked among the top 30 in Division 1, according to Troy High School athletics.

The Colts advanced through the district tournament before meeting Seaholm in Wednesday's championship game.

The victory gave Troy its third straight district title. The school's athletics department celebrated the achievement following the game.

Troy also defeated Seaholm in the 2025 district championship game, continuing a recent run of postseason success for the program.

Head coach Adam Spinks leads a team that entered the state tournament among Michigan's highest-ranked Division 1 programs.

Regional semifinal next

Troy advances to face Warren Cousino in the Division 1 regional semifinals Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The game is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills, according to the Troy athletics schedule.

The Colts will seek to extend their postseason run after falling in the regional round last year.

A win Tuesday would move Troy one step closer to a Division 1 state championship.
