Two Troy seniors are among the nominees in a statewide reader poll for Michigan's top senior girls golfer.
Aanya Bansal of Troy Athens and Sophie Zhao of Troy High School appear on a list of 62 candidates published Oct. 20 by MLive.
The poll is part of MLive's Fall Sports Stars series, which asks readers to choose standout high school athletes from across Michigan.
Subscribers can vote as often as they like until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25. MLive does not accept votes by email.
The nominations follow the Michigan High School Athletic Association's Division 1 girls golf state finals, held Oct. 16-17 at Bedford Valley Golf Club in Battle Creek.
Bansal competed as an individual qualifier, while Troy High competed in the team field. Both schools had golfers representing Troy at the state tournament.
The statewide poll includes golfers from schools across Michigan and is not limited to Division 1.
Other Oakland County nominees include Isha Chauhan of Rochester, Ava Ebling and Lily Fishtahler of Clarkston, and Josie Vandenhaute of Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood.
